Our story
We left Canada in 2019. In 2020 we took over Finca Escamequita, “La Hacienda”: a century-old cattle farm that produced milk and cheese.
We planted thousands of trees and more than twenty kinds of fruit, coffee, vegetable gardens and medicinal herbs. Twenty of the seventy-five acres are back to forest, and the soil, rich in water again, gives exceptional organic produce.
We built small casitas to welcome travellers from everywhere, close to the beaches. Then we chose the best part of the land for Las Planadas, so that others could join us.

How do I pay when I book direct?
Direct bookings are paid 100% in advance.
How to get here
The new Costanera road does not show up on GPS yet. Follow these directions:
- Reach the Remanso roundabout and turn left.
- Drive about 7 minutes to the Escamequita intersection.
- Turn left.
- After 500 m, turn right: at the entrance you will see two big round stones.
